I'm good at this because I actually pay attention to tone, to timing, to what someone means underneath what they typed. I've done a lot of writing (comedy, lyrics, social content) and that background trained me to hear a "voice" and hold it consistently, which is basically the whole job, staying in character, staying warm, never sounding like a script.
